We took our 6 month old son into the ER due to a peanut allergy reaction. Thankfully his reaction was mild and only resulted in a minor rash. During our ER visit he had his pulse monitored and his blood pressure checked and given a single dose of Zyrtec. We met with the financial services representative during our ER visit and were told that our bill would be approximately $800-$900 for a level 1 code. The security staff is extremely unprofessional. I overheard them calling a patient “crazy” and “not all there” out loud. I was in the next room over during an emergency for my son and I don’t believe they were aware of the fact that we could hear them. This place has a lot of patients with mental illnesses and calling them crazy is totally out of line! I have trusted Phoenix Children’s with my kids for nearly 17 years, which is exactly why this experience was so disappointing. I brought my son in because he needed minor medical attention that could not wait until morning, and Phoenix Children’s was the only nearby facility open. Based on our previous experiences with PCH, I didn’t think twice about bringing him there. While we waited, our insurance information was taken. We took our daughter here over the weekend when her fever spiked to 103. The staff was excellent. Jim, the paramedic deserves a gold star. It is so refreshing to be helped by someone who loves kids. I would highly recommend anyone needing an ER in the west valley

Went and saw Dr. Menzer for my son’s knee. She reviewed his MRI and was super knowledgeable and explained the issue with his meniscus in a way he was able to understand (he’s 10) and brought in a model of a knee to give a visual example, which was super helpful. She answered all of our questions and we are now scheduled for surgery! The process for scheduling and checking in for the appointment was super easy.
