Pho Lantern on Niagara Street has become one of my favorite little spots in Buffalo to grab lunch and catch up with a good friend. The restaurant has an interesting, traditional Asian atmosphere, from the music playing to the fish tanks built into the walls (although there don’t seem to be any fish in them anymore). Honestly don’t understand the hype around this place. They claim to be “the best Vietnamese restaurant in Buffalo,” but the pho was below mid. The broth was flavorless and had no depth to it. The small portions are already expensive. The chicken bahn mi was also disappointing because the chicken tasted like canned chicken and had barely any flavor. Visited this restaurant not to long ago food is alright but my main complain is I was charged for something I never ordered I havnt checked the receipt till later but I was charged additional $6+ for something I never ordered, I tried calling/ messaging about this issue but I never received anything back. I been here a few times and the pho always been just alright I’ve definitely tried better pho for cheaper, but this is my third time here and i came with a friend and i asked the waitress for 2 “pho beef & meatball” which said $15 on the menu for the small which they gave us on the tablet so i thought the total would be around 30 but when we went to checkout it says the total was 39 with change and this felt sketchy but the lady at the register told us she gave us extra meatballs which was an up charge but we never asked for... read more
