I brought a car in to help a friend get back on the road. The battery was dead and needed a jump start, but instead of resolving the issue, they tried charging hundreds of dollars claiming the odometer wasn’t working. Anyone with basic automotive knowledge knows this can often be fixed by resetting the ECU on the dash. It’s literally a few button presses.
