Mr. Phelps recommended a type of zoysia for our small backyard. When the sod came we asked why about a dozen pieces on top of the pallet looked different (blades looked different and they were already green when the rest of the pallet was not). We were told it was the same, just green as it was on top and exposed to the sun. After it was laid and the brown grass greened up it was obvious we have 2 different types of sod!
