Literally an empty hospital and it took 3 hrs to be seen for chest pain. Would give 0 stars.
About two months ago, I had a minor procedure with Dr. Bergstein at Phelps Hospital. The procedure went very smoothly, and Dr. Bergstein was great throughout the entire process. Although there was a little issue with the correct paperwork for my procedure, I was informed by the nurses and doctors that this was because of their transition to a new computer system that cared for their records. I would give zero stars if that were a choice. We had a terrible experience in the emergency room yesterday with Dr. Shalom Sakalow. He was confrontational and cold to the patient, and dismissed her input and medical condition. When asked why he was speaking so rudely to a patient, he left the patient mid-exam and walked out. He complained his job is stressful. He said that people are actually dying in the emergency room and her complaining symptom is nothing compared to that. I just want to start off this review by saying the doctor and nurses at Phelps Hospital are amazing. All very professional and extremely caring for their patients. Do Not Come In an Emergency! The biggest issue I have with Phelps for years is that you will be waiting a very long time. I’m not sure if they are understaffed but I arrived at 12:00 and was checked in about 20 minutes later. 12/17/25 12/2/25 TKRSurgery, proceeded to level 3, strange weird floor, women checked me in every 2 seconds would say “plz n thank u” to me, like a horrifying SciFi flick, moved to next area, IV inserted, I had to go to bathroom, had to learn to climb up to get IV bag to proceed to bathroom where I needed to beg someone to relocate IV bag, I’m 5’1” needed to fen for myself, some staff was ok, but some nurses DON’T give a hoot about u, thank u to the ones that were kind, Next…post op, NOT realizing that this is major surgery ... read more
