Dr Wassmer is a professional, as well as a knowledgeable and confident doctor. He treats his patients with a friendly smile and most importantly listens to what they have to say. His conversation is two sided. He does not dictate. Knowing I can discuss my worst fears with Dr Wassmer and have him understand and appreciate where I am coming from. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a professional and understanding cardiologist.
Dr. Wassmer was recommended by a friend from St. Petersburg. I had not found a cardiologist in Florida that I was comfortable with. After 2 appointments with Dr. Wassmer he had not requested further test or blood work even with my BP 180/110. I thought I needed further testing like a stress test or vein mapping but he spent 5 minutes with me and that was it. I drove from Avon Park (70 miles away and he only spent 5 minutes with me.

I had a TEE at Northside. The procedure commenced more than 1 hr late. Dr. Wassmer only introduced himself and said no more. The procedure left me with a very sore throat and spitting blood the next morning. In the mirror I can see damage to the little flap and a blood clot. The first attempt to insert the IV resulted in going all the way through the vein. The previous TEE in Gainsville was carried out much more professionally and with little soreness which lasted less the one day.
Very satisfied with the care I receive.
While on-call for his medical group, Dr. Wassmer neglected to answer his numerous pages from the on-call service that were placed by my husband's nurse, the hospital charge nurse, and myself over the course of 4+ hours before we gave up paging him and left the hospital against medical advice. My husband was never seen. I'm extremely frustrated by Dr. Wassmer's unethical, irresponsible response to his on-call responsibilities.
