I won't be taking my pet back to Petco. The Petco located on Meridian Avenue isn't a good place to get your pet groomed. They are constantly raising the prices and they use a detergent that made my dogs skin get very dry and flaky. I have two pugs and after taking them to Petco they were shedding more than usual. I really think they should sure a gentler shampoo for the dogs. When we picked up our dogs, my smaller pug wasn't all the way dry and if they didn't towel her off enough. fine I go to Petco about 6 times a year to buy supplies for our pets. It usually has what I need and the staff is helpful, but not always available. It does stink in there, but I guess that is common for pet store.
not bad, there are better I used to drive all the way down there just to get special cat food. They kids do enjoy looking at the fish and other animals as well. They have an ok selection of toys for your pet, but seemed a little limited on supplies to me. Some of the animals in the cages didn't look so good as well. We picked up some fish from them last year and they were diseased, took them back and got more sick fish. They replaced them with yet even more sick fish. petco The Petco in San Jose is decent. Most of the Petco stores that I have been to have had dead animals still lying in their cages or their tanks. This is disturbing and I don't think that it is very sanitary to benificiary to the other animals. The store is clean and organized, and prices are average.The employees, however, do not seem to know anything about animals, their behaviors, or what they need.
Pet's Paradise This store has just about everything for most domestic animals. We get a lot of dog supplies there, from food to toys to snacks. I've never purchased a pet there, although I do hear it's not the best place to buy fish. The fish are not always healthy and tend to die right after you get them home. For fish I'd go to Brian's Fishworld anyway. PROS: good inventory of pet supplies CONS:
