My hot water heater is 30 years old. I assumed that it had to be replaced even though there hadn't been any problems. Darren said the unit was a good one and did not recommend replacing it. He suggested installing an auto shut off for leaks, and a pressure reduction addition. This option was a lot less expensive. His knowledge of the type of older unit was impressive.
