Destroyed my Saturday night – After eating here, I couldn't continue my Saturday night. It was the worst dining experience in my life. Can you beleive they were able to destroy hommus. Who destroys hommus? They added enough oil to make it some sort of oil/hommus. Who wants that? BTW, the only reason I ordered hommus was because everything else that came was inedible. I thought, OK, let me order hommus so at lease I can eat something. Nope. Also, let me say we ordered family style. So you would think at least one entree would... read more
Terrible, Terrible - WORST RESTAURANT EVER – This is the absolute WORST restaurant. All the food was inedible! Chicken was rubbery and spolied - I had to get a slice of pizza after since there was nothing at the restaurant I could eat. The service is even worse, no one comes and takes your order, asks if you need anything - save your time and find another place to eat.
Great food and excellent ambiance – The food is excellent.. And what is more, they have the space to accommodate a large group.. We went to Pera when it first opened as a small group and loved the food and ambiance.. Since then, we celebrated 2 birthdays with big groups there and found it to be an excellent restaurant each time.. What is more is the entire is staff is very friendly, including the chefs you get to watch as they prepare the dishes in the open kitchen.. Try the pizzettes and the warm seminola icecream dessert..
Food leaves much to be desired – The food was mediocre but overpriced for what it is. It was on the heavy side, and was served almost cold. At this price category you have so many better restaurant choices in the city. To top it all, the service was not good at all. It was OK to try it once but we will not be going back.
I love this place – I saw this new place in the neighborhood. I work on Madison and 40th. It's really good. I've been waiting for sometime for a worthwhile spot to go for dinner and drinks after work. I love mediterranean food so I was a bit anxious to try it out. I have to say that i really loved the food. I had the lamb adana. My friends tried the chicken and the fish. I recommend the phylo rolls and the hummus for apps and the Mini shish trio was a nice surpise. The atmosphere was great. It's relaxing and sleek. Its looks... read more
Great Turkish food. – I went with some friends for drinks to Pera a week ago and loved the decor so much that we went back to try the food. The food was great as well as the service. We were a party of six and we stayed late and had a great time. Did i mentioned the decor with the the beautiful open kitchen? Check it out. Will definetly go back.
Bad Service, bad food, bad value! – Came here on tuesday night with a party of 3 people excited to try a new turkish restaurant. While the restaurant was very pretty, we were very dissapointed with both the quality of food and the service. The service was very slow and while the restaurant was only mildly crowded, we found it quite impossible to get the waiters attention. We began with the meze platter which had a small portion of each of the appitizers. The hummus was decent and the feta was good...but the rest of our meal ... read more
Even beyond New York one of the best Turkish places – This restaurant I think opened recently, but has a staff that makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. The menu selections have been thought through quite well and the tasting menu is a must try. The portions are very generous and quality excellent. On my list of frequent places for sure. The wine list surprised with some good selections.
Not Reccomended – Pera's decor is beautiful, but its food is terrible and its service is even worse. I will never return.
