The signature stuffed tacos with shrimp were heavenly. The cheese pull between corn tortillas added to the well seasoned shrimp. The shrimp were diced and cooked perfectly, and every bite had a piece of shrimp (as it should!) I normally hate refried beans, but they were actually pretty decent. Really thought Pepe's went out of business a long time ago. My first real tacos were Pepe's in Albany Park 1979 or 80. Had multiple different locations over the years and none of them have let me down. I ordered 4 steak tacos expecting smaller street tacos. Nope! These tacos are huge! 4 tacos was too much. Good flavor to salsa. Be careful, it's not mild. Polite and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back!
They charged us more than the prices listed on the menu. Isn't this illegal?
This Pepe’s is horrible food isn’t seasoned the worker at the register have a very nasty attitude they tell u taco Tuesday and the tacos are carry out only for $2 but if you dine in $4 either way it’s not a deal because you don’t get any hot sauce or peppers for dine out meaning when you dine in you’re paying for the hot sauce and peppers anyway I see why this damn place is always empty
First off, next time I come back, I'm making sure Edith is working. She was AMAZING!! The food was great, drinks were refilled quickly, and so were the chips and salsa. I have never been to Pepes but I will most definitely be coming back!! She treated my daughters so well, and they left feeling special. Thanks for a great visit!
