I was seen by the neurology department for a skin biopsy and was not informed that it was being sent to an out-of-network lab. I had called in prior to my appointment and was told the biopsy would cost $250, but might now be responsible for $11,800 because of this mistake. I have spent hours speaking with a number of Hershey Medical Center representatives who have been very kind but have not been able to resolve this. As a mother and advocate for my child whom I know best the pediatric emergency room doctors and nurses passed judgement and in black and white on documents classified me as "passive aggressive and frankly condescending"...for being my childs advocate. Sorry that my intelligence intimidated your ignorance. Our entire encounter was horrible. Would not recommend go the extra 2 hours to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where care is top notch and your voice will be heard.
