Never actually got to try the food, because this was the experience I had with them. I called in an order for delivery at 4:30PM. I was quoted 45min-1hr. Called back at 5:30, the man on the phone told me my order just left and would arrive in 20 minutes. Called back at 6:00, the man told me it should be here by now.. but to call back in 30 minutes if it had not arrived. Called back at 6:30.. now asking to speak to a manager and if someone could call the delivery man. The man on the phone then became frazzled, put the phone d... read more

Cheap and classy pizza and beer – I've worked in Brigham Circle for a few years now, but only recently discovered Penguin Pizza! The pizza is fresh and crisp. I highly recommend The Seasonal, a 4 cheese "white" pizza with a butternut squash sauce. The slices are seriously bigger than your head and are totally affordable ($3.25 including tax). The beer list is amazingly long for any place, and impressively long for such a small restaurant! Seriously, it's about two pages long with an 8 point font. The waitstaff is great at re... read more

FRESH FRESH DELICIOUS FOOD! OH and an AMAZING BEER EDUCATION – Ahh, The Penguin. I would have to say hands down, Penguin takes the cake. First off - the beer. I love beer. Who doesn't? Now I'm a professional. Why? Because of this place. Woah, drinking beer doesn't make you a professional. Well when you drink beer here it does. The passport! The pass port has hundred + beers all from around the world. Different tastes, TEXTURES, and food pairings. Now... when I started there was only 106 beers to drink before I got my lovely ... read more

Beer Shangri-La – The beer list at this place rivals that of any other in the city; last I counted they boasted one that included 300 or so different varieties. Where else could you pull up a bar stool and take a trip around the world? I know! a place that provides a passport to its "travelers" and encourages you to attempt at least some of the world's finer hopps. While some of the food leaves something to be desired it is not all that bad, and the pasta dishes are better than average. Overall, a good bang for the buck!

Business response:

Ballonknot.... The reason why you will never be back to this bar is because of your stupidity you got yourself barred for life..MIKE O CONNELL, so its not like you have a choice weather you come back or not!!!

Delicious pizza and beer – All of the pizzas I have tried here have been delicious and the beer selection is one of the best in Boston. The pizza is so good I had an eating contest with a friend and ate seven slices. I definitely recommend Penguin, but you should use public transportation so you can avoid having to park.

check out on a sat. night; great service, solid beer selection – i have eaten a lot of pizza and drank a lot of beer in my day, and after stopping by the penguin on saturday night, i can't imagine finding a better spot to do either, especially in mission hill. service was great; the bartender was quick to check if i needed anything at all the right times. friendly but not intrusive, which is an important distinction in a place like this. pizza was great, huge slices, great tap selection. i'll definitely be back next saturday... read more

Great food but look out for bartender on Tuesday night. – This is not my first review. I eat out quite regulary. I love eating out. First the food: The raviolli with sausage was excellent...Spicy/hot but very tasteful. My friend ordered pizza slices which I tried. They are HUGE. I found them to be tasteful also. Overall I enjoyed the food and "our server". The atmosphere from what I could gather was nice but there may be something I'm not aware of...please read below. It was very strange. After we ordered our appetizer and h... read more

Best Pizza in Boston, Hands Down – I?m a veg and eat a LOT of pizza ? bhop, uhop, upper crust, crazy dough?s, south end, pizzeria regina, etc etc etc., but Penguin takes the cake. Super thin, crispy crust, and homemade sauce with lots of rosemary and spices (yum!). In addition, they boast about 150 selections of bottled beer from around the world - try every one (they give you a checklist), and you get a beer stein with your name engraved on it. COOL! The atmosphere is cool and quiet with lots of bright colors, hardwood, and... read more
