Arrived at PH just a few days before 9.11.01 to begin an enriching 3 semesters as a resident student. As a NYC native, it was surreal seeing the replays of that fateful day. Thank heavens I was in a peace community. That helped. I met wonderful people there, not just Quakers. The grounds are lovely, and the art studio and library always open. As a woman, it was a rare experience to walk around the campus after dark and feel safe.
