I will NEVER use Pender's Antiques again and I strongly recommend against supporting this business in any manner. I paid my deposit on 1/31/14 and the owner, David, said it would take about 4-6 weeks. I called around the end of March and David said it would just be another couple weeks. On 5/27/14 I received a call from the office assistant saying my furniture was ready. This was 4 months after I paid my deposit. 3 Complaints Filed with BBB – I have filed three complaints with the Better Business Bureau against Pender Antiques: 1. Sales Presentation did not disclose complete pricing information - Pender Antiques did not provide a complete estimate, and the additional estimate/invoice was almost 71% increase of the original estimate. 2. Improper Collection Practices - Pender Antiques threatened to “remove half of [my] windows if complete payment is not made” and yelled at me for asking about a payment plan. Bullying the customer. Service the way it should be. – Outstanding service! I took a piece of furniture in for repair. It was finished when promised and for the price that was estimated. Had one small issue. David addressed it personally and resolved it immediately. I could not be happier with the work that he did or the service he and his staff provided. Will definitely use him again and would recommend him for others to use.
Best by a Mile! – David Pender is world class when it comes to refinishing antiques! David repaired an 1800's era table for me that had a broken leg. When he was finished you couldn't tell the leg had ever been broken! Thanks for a Great Job! I 'd highly recommend Pender's for all your refinishing and restoration needs!
Pender's does beautiful work! – I have had some chairs refinished by David Pender's business. They look absolutely beautiful! The secretary was very nice and helpful. David can make anything look like new!
Antique dining room chairs could not look better! – My antiques have never looked better! Seeing my chairs after David Pender worked his magic was incredible! My antique dining room chairs had been in a smoke filled environment for decades so you can imagine how disgusting they were even after attempting to clean them myself, and the caning was falling apart as well, so David Pender was able to make them shine again! Disastrous and Disrespectful – Deep scratches on an armoire that David Pender, the owner, claimed to have fixed looked as if a two-year old put playdoh on it, and a new armoire backing was applied with the electronic cords screwed down. His assistant, who admitted the work looked really bad, had come to my house twice to attempt to fix the poorly-done repairs after the furniture was delivered and it STILL is not complete.
