We really enjoyed this quirky little hotel and soaking place. The original, old-fashioned, Asian-style private tubs were so peaceful and relaxing. Our room was comfy and we loved the artsy, colorful decor. The town of T or C, itself, is hippy-artsy-quirky and so fun to walk around. We arrived on Halloween day and the Halloween "procession" of townspeople displaying their costumes was so much fun to watch. We definitely want to come back to the town and stay a few more days. PLEASE GET NEW MATTRESSES! And sheets and towels. This place would be so great if they would invest in things like that. I love the artistic use of vintage things, the colors, the artwork and the price. But dang they really need to keep up with those things if they’re going to call themselves a spa. The price is great and the fact that it’s dog friendly makes it a great fit for us. Wonderful staff and unbeatable location right in the heart of Soak City! Very friendly and allowed me to check in early so go my soak on first thing. Love the private soaking tubs and how fast they filled up. The rooms left a bit to be desired, but were clean and comfortable- just very outdated and in need of maintenance/repair. For an overnight or weekend getaway, it’s a good value, but for any longer duration, I would opt to spend a bit more for one of the other hot springs hotels
So dirty. Whole room smelled like cigarettes. Pillows were stained and old and dirty. Felt like I was covered in grime the whole time there. I didn’t see any bedbugs and I only saw one roach. But I think the roach came from the outdoors., like he slipped under the door. But the room was soooooooo dirty.
Do not stay here! First off let me say we have stayed at the Pelican several times and loved it! Even recommended it to all our friends! Book directly with site! The rooms are decent enough and kinda cool. The price is great! The tubs were amazing! And staff are great! However, we stayed here at the end of July 2025 and it was a nightmare! We checked in about 5ish. Guy checking us in was cool even offered common room for a party since we were there celebrating a friends bday. Headed to the lake and returned at midnight.
