Actually, Dr Coyle has been pediatrician to my kids , all five, for years. He even researched my daughter's rare condition when she was born. He has given lidocaine wash when the one of the kids had hand and mouth disease severely. That disease just sucks no matter what. It's just an awful disease. This is a great doctor. He works sick kids in, he's responsive, if he doesn't know he finds out. He does research. You couldn't ask for a better doctor. My kids call him Uncle Brian.
My sweet grand daughter has mouth ulcers, I've called twice asking for help today with her mouth pain. ..the best answer they offer is "push fluids". Which would not be a problem if her little mouth was not causing pain. As a nurse I have tried the "old" remedies. I asked for a low dose viscous lidocaine wash that I could touch to the ulcers to maybe give her some relief. The answer. ..."push fluids", my prayer is that he breaks out with the same ulcers and gets no relief.
