He was thorough. He listened. He didn't rush. He was knowledgeable. He ordered the testing needed. He covered everything. We really liked him. Definitely recommend.
I was at the Mayo Clinic for a procedure in January and saw Dr, Makavet. After reading the bad review on healthgrades I was extremely fearful of seeing him. I saw him he was very professional, to the point the did exactly as I expected at pre-op appointment. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. He is to the point and no-nonsense type of Dr. I appreciate that as I dislike long winded, dumbed down explanations of my conditions, he was to the point the didn't dumb down the language for me. A great doctor!
I saw Dr. Malavet for an undiagnosed issue from an outside system. He took a lot of time with me, referred me to the to key specialists, and continuously spoke with all the doctors involved in my care. The second he saw a red flag, he had his team contact me immediately, got me in to meet with him within the hour, and explained concerns, proposed tests, proposed immediate treatments, and once the immediate danger had passed, worked with me on long term treatment. I credit him with saving my life
Did not listen to me as a patient. I walked away with no diagnosis and no effort to obtain one. Basically, he told me to go away and not come back. Horribly frustrated.
