My son was born at the hospital and Pediatrix sent in a doctor for him to be discharged and that doctor was out of network. I didn’t choose the doctor, I did not ask for the doctor, and I was not given a choice on the doctor. I received the out of network bill of over $800 (for one visit maybe 5 minutes long). I called Pediatrix and let them know about the No Surprise Act and how it was illegal to bill. They said they’d clear my bill. A couple of months later they sent me to collections!!! My wife and I had a horrible experience with Pediatrix for the birth of our daughter. We are being billed for two doctors who never saw our daughter and a third who put my wife in tears by immediately accusing her of being a horrible mother for underfeeding our newborn simply because her milk had not come in 24 hours after the birth. We didn't even want to use Pediatrix, but they were the only pediatrician available at the hospital due to COVID, so we had no choice. Absolutely the worst billing system and customer service I have ever had with a medical group. Most of my other medical bills are willing to work with me in regards to making payments, but I have heard the run around from Pediatrix multiple times. My first attempt to set up a payment plan, I was told I would be able to make payments of $25 a month, which I really struggle with 6 other medical bills asking for the same amount and more.
