If I could give 0 stars I would. Our son had four baby teeth extracted at Pediatric Dental Specialists of West Michigan on August 17. After the appointment, he told us he experienced significant pain during the extractions and described the sequence of events in a way that left us seriously concerned about whether he was adequately numb before the teeth were removed. Had a 2nd, and 3rd opinion done after being told both my children needed EXTENSIVE work done. Totaling to about 10k. Both the other 2 dentists cut their treatment plans almost in half. One dentist called this places treatment plan "aggressive". After talking to many others, other people have had the same experience with this place charging crazy amounts for unnecessary work. I had been taking my children here for a while and would not recommend. Originally I got over any issues I seemed skeptical on but when it came to my son and them saying he had cavities in new teeth I was flabbergasted. The hygienist told me they had deep grooves. I said is it a cavity or deep grooves and she seemed confused and said cavities. I asked to see the xray to which they replied you cannot see them on the xray. We were originally referred to this practice because of the extent of my child's dental needs and their young age early last year, despite the office being over 55 minutes from our home. Times have changed. The office itself is clean, and the staff were always friendly and professional during our visits. Unfortunately, our overall experience took a very disappointing turn. My two-year-old was referred to this office by his usual dentist. I'm grateful they work with our Delta Dental! The dental hygienist was very knowledgeable and made our couple trips to this office well worth it. I learned so much that will help all three of my kiddos. The office would be wonderful for fearful kiddos. From the prizes, the tablets with shows for kids to watch while getting dental work, the very friendly staff, they do an excellent job of making kids feel comfortable.
