We are new to the springs. I took my 4 year old to the doctor for her first visit for strep. Immediately upon entering I was confronted on the cost of the visit in a way that made me feel like I was at a pushy car salesman. I usually don't have a co-py on my plan and its billed through the insurance company first. We came to Dr. Basewell's office to get well child check up and shots for both children. He barely looked at us, dismissed everything I asked about and was very forceful about his opinions on how we should treat our children. My husband is in the medical community so we aren't ignorant as to what WOW, CDC and other entities say is the proper way to treat children but we have chosen to take a SLIGHTLY different path. Pediatric medicine is an art. Sometimes it’s hard to diagnose a kid’s problem. But when every visit has a “I don’t know what the problem is, let’s try something” type answer, I lose confidence in the doctor(s). To give an example. My child went in for abdominal pains. She been seen before for these pains, but now she is vomiting from her pains. I was FLOORED by the doctor’s answer… “Kids get stomach pains. It’s no big deal. Good Dr., Average Practice My 18 month old has been a patient of this office since birth. I have had a good experience with the office staff and Dr. MacHaffie has always been great with her, taking lots of time to answer all of my questions. The office is a bit sterile and the wait time has run as long as 45 minutes.

Office is NOT child friendly. Dr was 90 minutes late--no one warned me or apologized. – My first appointment with Dr Kimble of Pediatric Associates was the worst experience I have ever had with health care (and I spent the last 5 years with military health care)! The office staff are unfriendly, and the office itself is more like an ER than a pediatrician's office. There are no toys anywhere--nothing for the waiting children to play with.
