Excellent service and doctor
The assistant we had was an absolute gem, she went above and beyond to help my daughter feel comfortable and was extremely patient and friendly, the Dr was also great. The older front desk lady could have been more attentive and friendly though.
My son just had an appointment. The exam is supposed to be free, no copay. Get there and they say a $25.00 copay. They are trying to make people pay for the retinal scan that is supposed to be optional and try to say it is a copay. Optomap is a charge for this service. And look, they even discounted it!
If you call ahead of time to ask if they take UPMC FOR YOU insurance and they say yes, they are lying. My son has that insurance and they confirmed via two phone calls that they take his insurance. They take his insurance for the eye exam but NOT for the glasses. This was not made clear to me, nor was I given any documentation to confirm this info. Went in to try contacts and get new glasses. I ended up with an abrasion on my eye from the contacts and was prescribed neomycin drops. After my dose with them I was told to try contacts again, had the same feeling instantly. Was then prescribed presidone drops 4 drops a day for 14 days was told to call if it didn’t feel better after. Eye didn’t feel better after and I started having floaters, called multiple times with no answer or called back. Finally got ahold of them and was scheduled a week out for an appt.
