I had two experiences with Peacehealth. First, I gave birth there. The nurse assigned to me was barbaric; she performed the absolute most brutal "cervical exam" ever. The follow up care was vague and condescending. More recently, I had some blood work come back a bit abnormal so I was referred to hematology. On 7/9 at 6:00pm I (Alyssa) reached out to Jaymasen's after hours PCP. As he had been complaining of stomach pain since being sick on 7/6. They referred us to the ER. We sat in the ER for several hours as they were extremely busy. We did not complain or make a big deal about it as Jaymasen slept the entire wait. We finally get into a room at 9:00pm where the DR enters to ask a few questions and then receives a call and steps out of the room. Jaymasen is given Zofran and IV fluids. He gets a CT scan done. If you use Peace Health as your general doctor please read this current review of them and evaluate if you are getting good health care or not. In October I got a bladder infection. After calling and being on hold for at least 30 minutes I got told there was no available appointments and I was better off going to the walk in clinic. I got there, because they don't take appointments, waited two and a half hours for the doctor to walk in and tell me " looks like you have a bladder infection, ill send your prescription over." ... read more

Surgery went well. Several major issues afterwards with urine retention, terrible sore throat and sinus pain lasting 5 days. Two followup calls basically said tough it out. Ended up in ER. Had to find decent aftercare instructions on other hospital sites. Very hard to get any care or advice after surgery. No problem getting the bill to you in less than 24 hours though,

We have amazing doctors in Whatcom County, but we also have does doctors where they really don’t care about patients care.
