Got a call out of the blue from someone wanting the co-pay up front. I told them I don't recognize the number and am not just giving a stranger my CC number. They then wanted to argue with me that it is required 2 to 3 days ahead of schedule. So I asked why are you calling me 12 days ahead of time. They didn't know but insisted I pay now. UNETHICAL so I hung up on them.
LAZY & INCOMPETENT STAFF!!! I had to work my own medical claims to get them paid. Every time I called I was told it takes them 60 days to ask their internal billing team to lift a finger. Meanwhile, in all their audacity, they forwarded me to collections. I didn’t even know this until I called them to forward payment - after I got insurance to pay (in less than 60 days later than their useless team would take)!!!
Wife had a procedure done. We have two insurances, and prior to the procedure we were told that there would be no additional charge (covered by both insurances). However, after the procedure, a surprise bill showed up at our house. PBS Anesthesia had billed our insurance for nearly $8,000. Our insurance declined to pay due to incorrect medical codes as per the code definition. So, PBS sent us the bill. PBS Anesthesia \ PBS Collections preys on patients by demanding a "Security Deposit" just before your procedure. Other reviews state regardless of your deductible being met for the year or not, they still demand a deposit. Others who have paid say they have a hard time getting refunds. Simply, this company errors on the side of taking advantage of patients anxiety over a surgical procedure. My experience was similar to everyone else leaving a one star review. I got a call stating I needed to pay $91 for the anesthesiologist the day before my surgery. I was also told is just an estimate and I could be refunded if the price was quoted too high. I didn’t like the sense of urgency he was trying to make me feel, so I asked if I could pay when I was at the facility.
