Reel you in with low prices and then it all goes downhill within the first year. A sales person discussed my rate and fees; said it would not change or be subject to any price hikes. Probably less than a year down the road, I noticed my payroll fees had increased - no communication, just noticed it on my account charges. Terrible service. They never answer the phone, it’s been 7 weeks in 2025 where we had to pay employees cash because Paychex changes your client account person too much, and don’t take phone calls. Don’t use this service. We are changing our payroll, 401k, and workman’s comp to a different payroll service. I see where Paychex has left a reply to reviews, but never call people that complain. Don’t give us more email addresses to leave messages, you want reply to. Leave us a phone number, where a live person takes calls
Cherina is life saver!! I literally called 5 times about an issue I was having and almost gave up I was so upset with yall but she took care of me and brightened up my day!!! Give that girl a raise! Thank you again Cherina you the best!
Review of Paychex – Poor Customer Service I will never use Paychex again. Every single time I’ve had to call them, I’ve been transferred around 5–6 times, and my issue still never gets resolved. This isn’t a one-off situation—it happens every time. Their customer service is beyond frustrating, no accountability, no urgency, and no one seems capable of actually helping. At this point, I refuse to waste my time with them any longer. If a company can’t even handle basic customer issues, they don’t deserve to stay in business.
Trying to transfer a 401k and I have to call in to verify the transfer with a code and I have to go through several prompts be put on hold then I confirm all this information with someone who I can hardly understand, then I get put on an even longer hold wait time and they say if I cant get ahold of someone in 3 days my request will be cancelled what an absolute hassle DO NOT RECCOMEND.
