My experience with Dr. Monteiro has been one of great joy and comfort to me. I have had extensive major spine surgery in Jan of 2017 and Dr. Monteiro has been caring, taking great time with me in surgery and making sure that I am healing afterwards. I trust him now and before with my life. He truly wants me to have a life well lived....a great surgeon....and man.
I had a complicated spine surgery and I'm 8 weeks into recovery. I'm very satisfied! Although, I haven't been able to go back to work, I feel so much better. Right now I'm doing physical therapy to strengthen my back and core. I'm taking my time to not interfere with recovery process. After all, I had an all-in-one type of surgery. Most people have to under go surgery 2-3× but under the circumstances Dr. Monteiro was able to do it in one surgery. I'm glad he did! ??
I had a cervical fusion several years ago and I am completely pain free.
Have to go to another surgeon to fix the mess Dr Monteiro created.
A year ago my husband had a fusion in his lower back. He spent almost a week in the hospital for a routine surgery. Two months later the pain and lack of mobility was as bad as it was before the surgery. Here we are a year later and the stabbing, pinching, and horrible pain is worse than before surgery. When he asked for help, my husband was told there was nothing more he could do. This has taken a toll on our marriage, teenage daughter, and his quality of life is beyond horrific!
Condescending, rude, arrogant. He's ruined my life. 12 months after a simple spinal fusion, I'm seeing pain management Dr's to cope with the horrible pain since the surgery. He won't admit fault, or even let me see a different doctor in the group. Stay away from him. As the head of neuro for Baptist hospital, no one in the network will admit his failure. I got lucky to find an Dr who isn't scared, and found the bones Dr. Monteiro broke, but wont admit to.
