Called for service, quoted a price to cap off a kitchen sink for new countertops we were having installed . $350-$400….I understand a job can change once on site but this was a simple job, no surprises, nothing complicated. TWO plumbers arrived and the job cost changed to $565.00 for about 90 minutes of work. I questioned the owner about this much higher price. Reply: “well, the one guy is in training that’s why the higher price” Well, plumbers “ in training” don’t work for free and we felt it was unfair to charge such a rid... read more

Recommended by a friend, I called to have a water softener installed. Initial quote without seeing the install was $400-1000. Tech came out and said $500-600 and he could do it that day. I agreed. He completed the job, although did not install drain or overflow lines, and said it was $775. I asked what changed from the earlier quote. I called Paul that afternoon because it was leaking at the bypass valve. He said he’d come out on Monday, it was Thursday.
