Great chicago style pizza. My family's from Chicago, so I know my pizza. I usually go to the Hayes Valley location in SF, but my Penninsula friends are regulars at this one. My favorite thing I've ordered is the deep-dish pizza with sausage. mushrooms, and bell peppers. Even under all that cheese, they manage to keep the bell peppers crispy. Also, they have lots of good beer on tap... failing that, they have cheap PBR!
Good pizza Whenever I hear of a restaurant that makes Chicago style pizza I check it out. Patxi's deep dish pizza is good. It has lots and lots of cheese and a thick crust. Their thin crust pizza doesn't measure up to its thick crust's flavor.
Highly recommended pizzeria... We recenly discovered Patxi's pizza in downtown Palo Alto and are now pretty much addicted to it. The pizza is delicious, and reminds us very much of Zachary's in Berkeley/Oakland. They specialize in the deep-dish Chicago style pizza but I actually think the thin version is just as good. Great Bay Area Chicago pizza Short of Zachary's in Oakland, there's no better Chicago pan pizza in the Bay Area. In addition to Chicago style, one can get traditional thin crust pizza. Then again, why go to Patxi's if you're only going to get thin crust. The pan style is tremendous.
