We booked a new patient appt 13 months out. 2 days before the appointment I called to confirm, they told me they cancelled because he is no longer taking new patients. After a year wait! What a disservice. And no referrral . What a broken system.
Having him as your family doctor means having no family doctor at all, because no matter what he is not available. When dealing with serious health issues, we go to urgent clinic since they will book you in 2 months. In case you want to see him for a recurring health problem/ not an urgent one, you will see him next year. I understand there is a shortage of family doctors, but not everything can be done at the urgent clinic.
I had to wait one year to get an appointment as a new patient. Then they canceled me one month before the appointment.
After waiting 1 year for an appointment, I received a text that my appointment has been cancelled. I called in and they told me he is not taking new patients. Again they made my appointment November 2024, it was For November 17, 2025. So unprofessional by VCU and this physician and his practice. Shame on him! I would not rate such bad service, but at least a one star will get his reviews down. I have been having issues that I need to be seen, and now I have no one. Having him as your family doctor means you have no family doctor at all, because no matter what he is just not available. For the very urgent issues they will book you in 2 months. If it is something not extremely urgent you will see him next year. I understand there is a shortage of PCP, but having him as a PCP does not help me at all.
