They did all the normal scientific american health care things: x-ray, prednisone, the boot, mri.... But by taking magnesium I solved one of my problems, a sudden inexplicable pain at the ball of the foot. If you have a sudden problem with no trauma, perhaps you are lacking a mineral or vitamin. The trauma from a chair falling on the same foot shortly after causing arthritis due to hoping it would get better on its own, yes that is something that a podiatrist is more set up to deal with. A word to the wise.
