My mom is 82 years old had an appointment with this doctor on 7/1/19, he told her she was too old with too many medical problems and would not take her as a patient and she should just stop taking all of her current medication. My mom is already suffering so he basically just told her to give up.

I was skeptical about making an appointment with Dr. Patel after reading the online reviews. At the inital consultation, Dr. Patel was kind, friendly and professional. The day of my colonoscopy, Dr. Patel remembered that I told him that I often get sick from anthesthesia and communicated this with my anthesthesiologist. The staff was professional, kind and caring. On time and everything was explained well Follow up was very good
Does not care about the patient - very little willingness to explain what he would do or recommend. Almost impossible to reach him or his clinical staff by phone. After I had an esophageal scope, he made a verbal recommendation of a laser procedure, and did not put it in the record (I have a complete copy). Tried to ask him by phone, and took the message, but he does not respond. I am still uncomfortable, and don't know his treatment recommendation....stay away from that "doctor".
After reading some of the reviews I was hesitatint about my referral to Dr. Patel. My experience was excellent both with Dr Patel and his staff. Very efficient, explained everything, and I felt safe and taken care of.
To the office manager!!! Please fix this policy!!! I don't need a referral for my insurance!! But I need a referral to be seen there for "office policy"?!?! You're near a military installation!!! Most of us who need a GI appointment know what we have and just need continuation of care!!! Very silly!! Why would I waste an appointment at the primary care/urgent care office JUST to get a referral to come see Dr. Patel to monitor my GI meds and chronic GI issues. Change the policy= change my rating
I have seen Dr. Patel for a long time and he has always been honest and helpful. His nurses has always been nice and very helpful. I have had no major issues with this Doctor and the office.
