I would never recommend him or his NP Diane. I was a patient there for 8 years and had several procedures with them. In the 8 years I was a patient there I was never told of findings in my first upper endoscopy which was the cause of my constant heartburn. In October I went in for another upper endoscopy where i was told and I quote " everything looks really good" - 2 weeks later I was rushed to the ER vomiting blood and they found 3 bleeding ulcers. Its time for him to retire.
I have been a patient of Dr. Pastrich for many years. During every visit or procedure, I have had many, he has taken the time to explain what needs to be done and upon completion he takes the time to tell you what he has found. The procedures that I have had were either done in a hospital or his facility. I find that I am more comfortable in his facility than a hospital because I feel I am getting more care than I would be in a large recovery room. I have great confidence in Dr Pastrich.
I owe my life to Dr. Pastrich at Brookhaven Gastro. I came to his office for a scheduled colonoscopy. I complained of faint aches in my lower abdomen. Dr. Pastrich felt I should have a cat scan of my entire abdomen to get a full picture before the procedure. The cat scan showed two intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (precancerous tumors) in my pancreas. If not for Dr. Pastrich's highly skilled medical knowledge, I would likely develop cancer of the pancreas. I am extremely grateful!
excellent doctor with great bedside manner
Dr Pastrich is one of the best Doctors I have ever met. He has a calming way of dealing with his patients. Takes time to explain everything after your procedure. Great bedside manner! I have been a patient for over 20 years.

Dr Pastrich .for sure, saved my life. He requested tests no other doctor had, and it was because of his dedicated, my lung cancer was caught early while the tumor was still small and had not spread. I would 100% recommend Dr Pastrich to EVERYONE !!!
