No question-the best fine pastry shop in RI- hands down. Thank goodness they opened over 25 years ago and fueled the resurgence of FederalHill as a food destination . Gave us all a reason to go there.
I first discovered Pastche when I first moved to Providence from Los Angeles. I fell in love with the place....it reminded me of a place that I went to in L. A., Sweet Lady Jane. The cake are fabulous and they sell it by the slice so you can tastes each one. I also love their blueberry muffins. They also make great espresso drinks and make it correctly. I lado love the fact that they are open late at night.
Baking is as much a science as it is an art and here is where they perfectly meet.
The scones alone were perfection, but I just finished up my slice of banana cream tart and died. Pastiche makes eating dessert a religious experience �
