About this business

Pasta Pelican is an East Bay favorite! We have been family operated since 1998, and it shows. Not only does the owner personally greet everyone, but in addition to a menu featuring a wide range of delicious Italian dishes and wines, we also offer a special menu that caters to children's tastes. With great food and spectacular views of Jack London Square and the estuary, you won't be disappointed.

beyond mediocre – This place has a great waterfront location but the food, service, and decor were painfully bad. The chicken and fish were over cooked, the sauces were salty and tasted canned, the drinks were undrinkably sweet, and the $18 dinner salad was smaller than your typical "free" strarter salad at other restaurants. Not recommended.

Great Food I love this restaurant . They have the best food. There pasta selection is amazing. The last time I ate there I came home with left overs. I would highly recommend them to others.

Great Pasta If your looking for good pasta try the Pasta Pelican Restaurant. The food is great. I always bring home left overs. They have a big selection, the staff are always nice and the cost is very reasonable. I would recommend them to others.

I love pasta This is a great restaurant if you love pasta. They have all kinds of pasta. I have tried a lot of different dishes there and haven't been let down yet. They are a little pricey, but well worth it. It is one of the classier restaurants in town. It is right on the water and has an awesome view across the estuary of Jack London Square.

Great Pasta!! – I always order the same thing Salmon Picatta. It has grilled salmon with sauteed mushrooms, capers and fresh basil in a creamy lemon, butter, and white wine sauce tossed with penne. To die for!!! If you go on a weekend, make reservations if you want to sit by the window.

MY FAVORITE ON ALAMEDA – I have been dining here for at least 10 years, first when I lived in NY and visited, and now that I am living here on Alameda. The food is wonderful, especially the seafood ravioli in a wonderful cream sauce. The salads are also outstanding, as are the pizzas. I am a vegetarian and always findsomething wonderful on the menu. The desserts are fantastic too! The owner is a great person, and many of the servers are relatives who make you feel extremely important. Every table has a view of the water, and... read more

One of my favorites – I'm not really sure what the other reviewers experienced when they say 'just average'. I love this place and I've been going for years. The wait staff is friendly, helpful and responsive to special requests. The food is outstanding! Try the sferas (meatballs) and calamari as appetizers and the seafood ravioli for your entree. YUMMY! The view of Jack London Square across the water pairs nicely with a glass (or two) of their reasonably priced wine. I've brought many friends from out of town to this restau... read more

Canned Italian – I love Italian food. Italians pride themselves on using the freshiest ingredients. There is nothing really innovative or fresh about the food. Everything tastes like it came from a can or from the freezer. The only fresh tasting item was the warm bread, which flows freely. For the amount that you pay for these dishes, they really shouldn't cut corners the way that they do. If you like average food then this is the place for you. The views of the Estuary are nice and the wait staff are professional.
