TERRIBLE! – Management was very enthusiastic about getting us into the apartment... however, the attitude did not carry over to our stay. Michelle's hours are 10-4 and she is never there, trying to get ahold of her is impossible. The apartment smelled like cat urine and old mexican food. At the end of our stay we were over charged and Bright Apartments (the owners) would not negotiate. I am very dissapointed in the complex and in the people running the business. There are much better places. I wish I could give a negative ra... read more

A good place to live – I lived at Hood Center Apartments for about 2 years while attending MHCC, and I found it to be a good place to live. It was a bit low rent, lacking a pool, gym, dish washer etc. but the rental price reflected that, and for a student who didn't have a lot of money at the time, it was all the better. For what it was, Hood Center Apartments was very good. The location was great, being right in the center of town and just a few blocks or a very quick drive from most of the stores, one block from Safeway, m... read more

A mixed bag – Pros: Competitive prices (only place I can live alone and not completely use my paycheck on rent), quiet neighbors, good management In the Middle: Appliances are okay but not amazing, carpet is a bit stained, generally a somewhat cheap but adequate appearance Cons: Thin walls and squeaky floors. I live on the ground floor, and hear my neighbor whenever he walks around, whether its going for a midnight snack, his 5AM wakeup for work, or when he knocked boots with somebody at 3AM on Saturday morning. Each step is... read more

Not so good – Apartments are large for the price. It is very easy to hear neighbors. I would not recommend these apartments. Look elsewhere.

I live here now – I am living at these apartments right now. I have been there a year tomorrow. And for a place that is for yourself or a small family starting out this is a great place. the price for my place is great. I lived in a two bedroom with my in laws and then moved into a one bedroom and they were so helpful. I have hard wood floors and every problem i have they fix right away. I know my landlords have been there just as long as I have. I was her first move in. IT is a wonderful place and it is so quiet and close t... read more

By comparison, one of the best places to live near MHCC – I lived in two other apartment complexes nearby, besides this one: Kempton Downs, and East Wind. Of the three, I liked Hood Center the best. First, because it is all single bedroom apartments, there aren’t lots of noisy kids running around, and there are virtually no loud parties. So, despite the thin walls, it was usually quieter than either East Wind or Kempton Downs. (Also the 24-hour quiet requirement doesn’t hurt either!) Also, Hood Center was the cheapest of the... read more

Decent place – I won't say the Hood Center Apartments are a bad place to live nor will I say they're a great place to live, but a decent place. The pros that I found to living their for about a year and a half were the friendly staff, the cheap reasonable rent, close to the grocery store and other shopping, close to public transit / MAX and Buslines, the easy to find nature / right off 242nd and they're clean. The cons of course were the paper thin walls, the cheap lousy windows that will cost you a lot of money on your elec... read more

pretty nice – I don't understand where the other user is coming from. My family of three lived in a 2 bedroom apartment there for a year and a half. The only reason we moved was because of my job. The apartment was smaller than we had wished, but the rent was a good price and we could walk downtown. I never saw a cockroach-yuck! We did have the little sugar ants. I just wiped my cabinets off with vinegar and was good for the day. I very seldom heard my neighbors, and the woman who lived under us said she very seldom heard us... read more
