Five years ago I made Prairie Park Senior Apts. my new home. I haven't regretted one minute of my decision. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Sara and Joe are the best. On-site maintenance technician means quick turnaround for any problems that might occur, no waiting days for help. The building is lovely and always clean with a large community room and kitchen for resident functions. Great location on the Far West side. I have made some very nice new friends. The laundry room is filthy with dirt on the floor and dirt in the ceiling light, together with dirty cobwebs in the corner. There are only two washers & two dryers at this giant apartment complex! One should hike across the 7-lane Troup Highway to Wash Smart. Watch out for the crevices near the playground, kids! A neighbor ran out of her apt. when she saw me slip and fall to tell me that she'd seen a half dozen folks fall.
Maintenance guy sleeps with residents that's why NOTHING ever gets fixed. He's too busy smoking pot with residents! Work orders go weeks without being attended to. Wasp nests are everywhere and attacks little kids! I've had to submit over 9 request for window screens and they just don't care! If you want shady business, property manager sharing your personal information with other tenants to gossip, be messy, and her lying to cover up any wrongdoing, be my guest! This apartment complex is not only health hazard and should be shut down. The apartment I was booked to move into had black mold on the bathroom walls. Trash everywhere on the property not picked up. The management of the property do not disclose information correctly when applying. Also, one of staff is horrible even to possible new residence. HORRIBLE!!! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! If I could give a lower rating, I absolutely would! This place is a complete nightmare! Petra in the front office is a major problem! So rude, unprofessional, underhanded, sneaky, and overall a horrible human being (I could say a lot more but I’ll keep this professional). No hot water for 2 weeks in winter, no ac for over a week in mid summer. Maintenance is useless and the managers are rude and don't care to help you. Woods behind my unit are littered with trash, and there are always cops outside. Trashy ghetto, worst place I have ever lived.
