The 160.00 rent hike in 2 yrs is a heavy burden for someone on a fixed income. I’ve been living here for 5 yrs, but it’s becoming unaffordable. It’s too bad because I am very comfortable here. My ceiling was to be fixed months ago and the ripples in the rug are unattractive and could cause a fall.
My apartment has beautiful huge windows and 1 1/2 bathrooms, trees and birds all over, lovely. The downside is that I got an unrefurbished apartment last year for lower rent, because it's got cupboards from the olden days and old appliances from probably 1985, and suddenly one year later my rent is raised by $110 dollars because "they did a market analysis." My apartment is beautiful and I love it. It’s in a beautiful setting and is convenient to many stores, restaurant, and the large Regal theater complex. I love that I have a porch and can have window boxes and planters. Staff is always courteous and respectful and my neighbors are friendly and very nice. Although I have found maintenance to be very helpful, that is the biggest complaint with my fellow residents, that so many issues go unattended.
