First I will say I am glad we stayed at this hotel. The location is PHENOMENAL. It’s right between The Plaza Hotel and The Ritz across the street from Central Park. Just doesn’t get much better in terms of access, especially if you’re planning to walk most places. Also a subway access point steps away. Second stay at Park Lane Hotel was shocking—heater broken, windows leaking, noisy AC, lights out, no coffee machine or small bar in the room, missing amenities, tiny gym, rooftop closed at night, overpriced breakfast, and a room service burger costing over $50. Not all rooms have a nice view. The rooms are gloomy and grey, too dark at night, with a tiny bathroom and dirty furniture. $600/night for a basic room feels completely unjustified. I stayed with my daughter for my 50th birthday, spending a few days at the hotel a week ago, and the service was exquisite. They were kind enough to upgrade us for the occasion, and our stay was unforgettable. We will definitely return on our next trip to New York. Thank you to all the staff who assisted us; they were very kind.
