On Thursday, 12/18/2025, my dog began moaning and crying in obvious pain. I brought her to Elk River Vet the following day, Friday 12/19/2025. At that point, her left leg was swollen to nearly double its normal size, and she could barely stand or walk. During the exam, the staff noted two lesion-like spots on her lower nipples (side by side), with fluid leaking from the surrounding skin. My Aussie had a slip up and cut his paw open a few days ago and his limping was getting worse and he was acting sluggish. I called yesterday morning at 10 and the woman at the desk had me an appt within 35 minutes. She was so sweet and asking about what was going on with him. This was Hanks first vet visit in a while and he was in pain, so he was a little aggravated and anxious. The girls at the office handled Hank with such care and patience. This practice has changed since Dr. Warden retired. And not for the better unfortunately. I had an extremely disturbing and difficult experience today. All I wanted to do was renew my animal's heartworm medicine, but not using an online service that would take at least a week. I asked for a prescription to take to another vet. I have an appointment at the new vet for Monday. 1 week for today. There was some back and forth.
