Not what I was expecting I've eaten here twice and both times I have been less that satisfied. The food is way too over priced for the portion size and the service you receive. A lot of the meals are al-a-carte meaning you don't get any side. The food itself is nothing amazing and similar to a number of other restaurants in the area that are a lot cheaper.
Worst Bar in Durham With their prices you would think they are located in New York City. Instead, they are a blight in a deserted office park. Food is always overcooked, dining room is too noisy and the bar at night is the single biggest rip off in Durham. Ten dollars for a 'crat and coke!
My Favorite in Durham This is my favorite restaurant to visit when I'm in Durham visiting my daughters. We have been coming here for over three years and have always enjoyed ourselves. The Market Whole Fish special is outstanding and I'm also a big fan of the Duck Breast. I have never ordered the cheapest pasta on the menu, though...so maybe that one isn't so great. not great this place is wayyy over-rated. the food is so-so and the service leaves MUCH to be desired.
Bar Service not so hot Service at the bar was not so hot. Myself and a friend went up to the bar to get a drink, and we were treated very rudely by the female bartender. Male bartender didn't acknowledge our presence at all. We finally just walked off, too much trouble. However, the hostess was very pleasant.
Response to Tommy A Just responding to Tommy A's review which is completely untrue. Supposedly he paid $10 for an aristocrat and coke. I bartend at Parizade and we don't even serve aristocrat during dinner service. We do serve it though for late-night parties for Duke. But, those drinks are only $5. Maybe you forgot about the TWO drinks you ordered which equals $10. Please don't bad mouth a business with lies. Sometimes feel ill – This is a gorgeous location and the servers know what they're doing. The food has been good and there is a decent amount of variety, but I occasionally get sick after eating there. The sanitation score was 94 at my last visit...which isn't horrendous, but I still got an upset stomach for the next 24 hours.
Never again – My co-workers and I had lunch at Parizade on 2/10/10 and it was enough to ensure I will never go back. We arrived and it took 10 minutes to order drinks, another 10 for them to actually arrive and then the waitress vanished for another 10 minutes. Even though this was during the lunch rush, their were not a lot of people in the restaurant and there were a number of staff members walking around. More hits than misses – An upscale atmosphere with a lot of custom metal work and spectacular paintings greet you at Parizade. If we had been there before we would have probably dressed up a bit, but no one seemed to take issue with our jeans. Our server introduced himself 3 times, and his accent was a bit thick, but he was attentive and was able to answer some menu questions, make some suggestions, and he treated my 5 year old daughter very well.
