excellent selection These guys have the best selection in all the sports. I wanted to look for a bicycle lock and voila, they had it. There's no parking, since it's in the city, but if you're in manhattan, you should take the train there anyway. The staff is helpful, and you'll be amazed at the amount of sports equipment they have. Go in and visit, they'll likely have it.
The best sports store in NYC by far Paragon is a huge sports store right in the middle of Manhattan. Their selection is nothing short of amazing, with every item in every possible sport known to man. They offer many high end, top notch brands, so if you are looking for the best equipment, this is the place to go. This store has a reputation of helpful staff, and it is well deserved. Everything you need... Every sport under the sun is covered at Paragon Sports. I shop for my tennis, runing, skiing and hiking gear at this store. The staff is very knowledgeable and there is a liberal return policy. On a recent visit I tried twenty pairs of hiking boots and found the perfect pair. I was a "happy camper" after that experience.
SPORTS STORE MEGASTORE This sports store in downtown Manhattan has something for just about any and all possible sports out there. However, they might not have such an extensive assortment of items. But you will find your basics in here. Huge store, impossible to miss. Easy to get to. Prices are average retail, not really a bargain though.
Athletic Candy Shop! What doesn't Paragon have for the athletic body?! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! They have EVERYTHING! And most of the service is knowledgeable and helpful - the only downside is the downstairs shoe department who seem a bit disgruntled (*but on the cool side - they have a treadmil which you can test your new running sneakers before purchasing!) Paragon Paragon sports has basically every and any piece of sports equipment you could ever want. I despise sporting good stores but the sheer scope of this one is impressive. It's huge and anonymous, the way I like it when I have to buy Sports goods. They also have a supposed guarantee to beat any competitor's price on anything, though I have yet to try it out.
