Paragon bought out my past apartment complex and raised rent $230 the first year and wanted to raise it another $100. In the time they took over as management the grounds were so bad. There was no landscaping, garbage was all over the parking lot, they did nothing to enforce the handicap parking even when they were notified multiple times. I cosigned on an apartment, in mid-July 2023, for my adult autistic son at 199 South Allen Street in Albany, where he still resides. Since moving in, his living room ceiling has leaked more than six times, from a defective roof drain/lateral drain system and aging roof. Paragon reduced the February 2024 rent by $600; the only time they have ever offered some time of compensation for this repeated inconvenience. This place was absolutely horrible when it came to me and my roommate dealing mold. They did absolutely nothing to remediate the apartment and when we proceeded to not pay rent because the mold inspector said it was inhabitable, they left us with no where to go. Disgusting.
