I lived in italy, speak italian, and travel there often. I have lived most of my life in NYC. I love this restaurant. The bartenders are all elegant. The cocktails are great. Generous pours and the Martinis are always dry and crisp, never watery. I’ve been dining at Paradiso since at least 1999. I love it. The food is absolutely excellent. I would say 4.8/5. The drinks were weak. Bad pours. Bar tender was very loud. The food was really mediocre and service very slow. It took us 45 minutes to get a menu. Veal scallopini was flavorless and the grilled octopus appetizer was luke warm and nit made fresh for our order. The pasta bolognese was a highlight but still really average. I don't understand the reviews on line. Rating is a 4.6. I am going with a solid 3,2.
Delicious food and great service, but both my wife and I didn’t get the correct dish. I ordered veal chop Milanese with arugula on top and got the veal chop parm. My wife ordered the pasta trio, but recover the risotto with scallops. Our friends got exactly what they ordered. If we hadn’t been out with friends, we would have sent our food back. Overall, the food was delicious and I highly recommend the cauliflower soup with crab! We will be back.

Personalized service. Owner on site, which is always a good thing. Great Italian fare. Intimate setting.
