feeling sick the next day We had dinner on a Sunday night. Both owners were in the restaurant so there should not have been problems. We all got fried shrimp dinners. The shrimp was tough and not even hot. The coleslaw was a bland mix of cabbage in mayonnaise. The red rice was a greasy old mess. The tartar sauce was nothing but mayonnaise with no seasoning. GOOD SOUTHERN BBQ Papas BBQ is one of my favorite restaurants! When I went the service was good and friendly, my drink was never empty. The food was the best part, the BBQ sandwich is very good and I love the mustard base BBQ sauce they use. I also tried the brunswick stew and I have to say it may be a new favorite. overall: good food, fair prices, friendly atmosphere cons: it was busy when I went
Great BBQ They do have very good BBQ at Papas, service is also good. However the resturtant is very small as far as seating goes, its limited, and parking can sometimes be an issue. PROS: Sauce is just right , not too tangy or sweet CONS: Parking and size
Be sure to try the fried pickles! I love Papa's. My favorite things are the shrimp salad sandwich and fried pickles! The new location is spacious and very nice. We've always had good service.
Worst BBQ EVER!!! We are new to the Savannah area and have been looking for a good bbq restaurant, our family of 7 dined at Papa's Bar-B-Que,all ordering different menu items. We all agreed this was the worst food ever!!! The bbq sauce was more like spicy mustard and all of the sides tasted as if they were served straight from a can. DO NOT TRY THE BRUNSWICK STEW!Smoked chicken was dry, pork did not have any flavor....their version of texas toast was a plain old white bread toast. We could not have been any more disappointed... read more
