I walked into Miami county in a mental health crisis. I was asked to take a drug tests and I had nothing alarming in my system. The nurse comes in demanding when the last time I smoked meth. I burst out crying saying I’ve never done that in my life. I was immediately scared for my babies. I was so scared. I asked her if any of my medications could cause a false positive and she stated no and I wasn’t in the right mindset to realize some medications do like my trazadone. While it was further out from where I live, Dr. Bagby’s Orthopedic team was incredibly nice and helpful throughout my visit. Highly recommended.
The ER at Miami County Hospital has changed drastically since it’s been taken over by KU. It has lost that small town hospitality and now has that corporate feeling of a larger facility. It is very unwelcoming. They do not have any idea what is going on. I would highly recommend going to Advent South, or another ER that is not associated with KU.
