Editorial fromTucked onto a street off of the frenetic Magnificent Mile, this sedate, hidden gem is a breath of fresh air. The setting is muted---earth-toned walls, polished service, gleaming tableware---but the food, by contrast, is bold. Simple in…

Love this restaurant for 20 years!! Great food , nice ambiance
Amazing meal. We started with the 600 day old prosciutto and the gaspacho, followed that with the butternut squash tortellini. What really made my night was the sauteed Branzino, it was dynamite. I would definitely recommend.
We had an awful experience at Pane Caldo. Everything from the lack of air conditioning on a hot Summer evening, to the inability to provide separate checks, to the lack of remorse or empathy from the manager who was too busy smoking outside. And to top off the experience they over charged people in our party by hundreds of dollars.
I only went for drinks, but plan to eat there next time- they are extremely knowledgeable and hospitable! :)
Wow! The appetizers were splendid, the entrees were amazing and the desire was awesome!
Still a Hidden Treasure – Your presence is irrelevant. If a tree falls in the forest, air is forced away from impact no matter if your eardrums vibrate. And so Pane Caldo remains one of the city's finest restaurants despite the fact that you have never eaten there and probably never will. Economics is a dismal science. Ask people with that misspent education (author included) and they'll probably spew off some happy horse-poopy about supply and demand and equilibrium and production and distribution and Zeus knows what else. ... read more
Romantic Dinner to Impress – If you're celebrating an anniversary, or perhaps popping the BIG question Pane Caldo's front table overlooking Walton street is extremely romantic with a private feel. The service is impeccable with delicious Italian cuisine. I enjoyed the fresh fish prepared neatly with a rich sauce that was not overpowering. This restaurant is defiantly a romantic spot worth splurging.
Pane Caldo has a 4.3 star rating with 57 reviews.
