Dr Black is awesome. Wish she didn't retire. She seems short at first, but when you get to know her, and her you. She awesome. She listens and discussed options. ?? So sad she's gone. I can't say anything positive about the new Drs . At the clinic she was at.
When you see Dr. Black, she is really good to her patients. I really like Dr. Black but 48 hrs. to return a phone call?! Shameful! That's bad medical practice, period. Non emergency = 24 hr turn around. Urgent, high pain, reinjury = same day, if not within the hour.
Practice management is horrible. If you leave a message they won't call you back. You have to keep calling until someone actually answers the phone. They called me to cancel an appointment, can you come in this morning? uh no, I'm in the hospital. They never called back to schedule an appointment. Doc may be ok for short term injury relief but absolutely unacceptable for chronic disease. NEVER touched me, never conducted a physical exam but cut my meds every visit. She is rude and hateful.
I called Dr. Black's office...referral of a friend. Didn't go very well. The lady on the phone just seemed to "slam doors" on seeing Dr. Black. I needed a referral and I understood that but she seemed to make a presumption that I couldn't pay. My insurance doesn't Dr. Black but I am able to pay. She just came up with reasons why it wouldn't work. For example "We need a referral, cost would be $200. to $800.00, we couldn't make an appointment until March..". Very presumptuous and no appt.
This doctor was the first one to notice one of my legs being shorter than the other when I went in for shoulder and hip pain. She involves me in my care and helps me find solutions to my pain.
It had been many years since I saw DrBlack. She helped me avoid surgery for several years and did injections that completely took pain away for years, then months, then I finally did have to have surgery which was very successful. So glad I was able to wait until newer procedures were available.
Dr. Black is patient and seemed concerned about me personally. I liked her so much I referred my daughter to her. She offers a plethora of pain modalities including injections and physical therapy. Only real problem is the office is so busy it is hard to get in. Her PAs and NPs are also kind and professional.
First visit I waited 3 hours before being seen by Dr Black and she came in and I saw her for 3 minutes. She never talked with me at all about my condition or the reasons for all my pain. She just said she was taking me off my pain medication, that I have been on for 25 years and has worked to where I led a normal life with little pain, and now I am not only going through withdrawals but my pain is increasing exponentially. I hated he clinic and felt like I was a means to a bigger pay day for her
Very good Doctor and very patient.
