Nice rooms , the facilities could do better , location is beautiful,
Our brief stay was enjoyable. The grounds and location are beautiful. The room was clean. The grounds were beautiful but not well kept. Lots of garbage blowing around and the room deck could have used a cleaning. Finally, staff at the restaurant was very friendly and efficient, although the restaurant could use an update. Overall, a great place to stay.
Our room was lovely - a front row seat on the cruise ships and a sunny morning.
This was our second time in 3 months staying at Painters Lodge and it was absolutely fantastic. The service is top notch for both the lodge and restaurant. It’s such a beautiful place to stay right on the ocean. We were able to watch the Canada Day fireworks from the dock which was a very nice bonus. We will be coming back every year now and perhaps one more time before winter 😉
I have known this historic property for many decades. Sad to to see it managed in such a rough manner. I realize it is undergoing a “revitalization”, but the management and staff training was just not up to current standards to support such a prestigious lodge. Having really only a pub ( with large screen tv’s) at a resort really discredits it. Taking 40 minutes to check in, with a single staff on the desk at 16:00 hrs puts your experience off on tough footing. It has great potential, but has an uphill battle on its hands. I... read more
