I visited for the first time today. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I discovered some plant species that I was unable to find elsewhere and ones I had never heard of. They were also willing to take my information for when out of stock plants become ready. So glad I stopped by. 🙂 I was surprised to find MILKWEED which brought back a wonderful memory. Gwen and I went to the Painted Flower Farm in Denton today. What a wonderful plant nursery. Native Texas plants, great selection of not usual plants.

I found out about this place a couple months ago, and went to check it out yesterday. I LOVED it. Nice set up on the back of private owned property. The employees were knowledgeable and very friendly! Prices are comparable to the plants I bought at the Dallas Native Plant sale a few weeks ago, but Painted Flower plants look a little nicer - tip- top shape. So much was in bloom - I would go just to walk around! Another plus are the labels they have on each pot, a lot more plant info than the tiny little pickets.
The botanists at PFF are knowledgeable, frank, and friendly but their greatest trait is their sincere desire to promote local, native plants and the quality of the plants they provide so you can accomplish your own little victory against ecological degradation. The hibiscus we bought from them was the sole survivor of an unforgiving summer.
