I lived in a unit with pads for grads for almost 3 years. The only good things about the apartment were the location, and the landlord mostly leaves you alone. Other than that, the apartment was terrible. The unit was run down with many maintenance issues. The windows were extremely drafty, making winters very unpleasant. I came across a vague listing on Facebook and decided to reach out to this “agency” based on the price and location. I contacted the owner to schedule a tour. He had me meet with the maintenance man, and while the apartment was ran down and dated, I figured it would take some time to fix up and wanted to submit an application. After cancelling 2 scheduled meeting times, he finally meets with me and promptly states that the price listed was incorrect — and it was actually a 35% markup from the previously listed price. Stole my deposit and avoided all attempts to contact. They never provided documentation as to why they didn’t return it. I paid out of pocket to have the paint fixed and the apartment cleaned. Left that place much better than I found it and get ghosted. Just another slum lord. Also the sink was rotting and they seemed to not care.
