I saw Dr. Hu and her resident for a frozen vocal fold 3 weeks post thyroid surgery. I found the clinic reassurring. The tests were a bit invasive but comfortable enough. Dr. Hu was knowledgable and explained her approach very clearly. Because more throid surgery is necessary, she thought it best to wait until the primary surgeon carried out his work. After reading the other reviews about Dr. Amanda Hu, it is clear her bedside manners are inconsistent. Unfortunately, my overall experience with her was negative and I left our appointment feeling dismissed and insulted. She chose to make an incorrect assumption about my reasons for the meeting and when I corrected her, she decided it was best to double down and stop listening altogether. I don't normally write reviews but thought it's fair to write one for Dr. Amanda Hu. Prior to my appointment, I was a bit hesitant if I needed to see her as I've read the negative comments about Dr. Hu. When she called me into her office, the first impression I had was she seems nice. True enough, as we went through my med history and when she performed a test, she was very gentle, attentive and respectful contrary to some of the reviews.
